P
rior to dropping out of High School, George studied drafting, blue print reading and estimating.  To his credit, he does possess a natural talent, a gift of sorts with construction and woodworking.  After the few years spent driving a truck, he acquired employment in the construction field.  Apart from his skills, employers always found reason to discharge George within months and so George never achieved a 1 year anniversary on any of his jobs.

When he wasn't working for someone in construction, supported by someone or "laid up", he was looking for investors for his next business venture.  Below are 6 examples of his failed businesses.  Some of his investors actually received payments on their business loans, but we are unaware of anyone who was ever repaid.  Although George was an unsuccessful businessperson, he was an extraordinary touch artist.

An early example of George's business attempts was Compu-Hide Desks.  These were custom made computer roll top desks.

George's Spoiled Sport Stables

George owned 2 horses and built a stable on his property.  This new dream of boarding horses for income was named Spoiled Sport Stables.

George conceived the Heaven's Gate subsidiary of Spoiled Sport Stables after the death of 38 Heaven's Gate cult members in 1997. Hole In The Mountain Ranch was another subsidiary of Spoiled Sport Stables.  George sought investment money from folks across the country.  Spoiled Sport Stables though was never more than 2 horses and some cows on the property that George eventually lost to foreclosure.

George's Lazer Lawn Service

With loans from at least 2 investors, George started Lazer Lawn Service.  He secured a contract with a nearby apartment complex which produced several thousand monthly in billing in addition to numerous smaller accounts.  George planned a division named Lazer Construction Services, but nothing came of it.  Lazer Lawn actually had a good chance for success, unfortunately George's ongoing drug use consumed his time and this business failed.

George & 9/11

Months after the 9/11 tragedy, George told a friend about his role in the rescue.  He told the tale of how his fire company spent days on the Ground Zero site searching for survivors and of the horrific things he'd seen.  He also explained that everyone was searched before leaving the site but that he had hidden pieces of the buildings inside the lining of his jacket.  George had several boxes each with small pieces of concrete.  He gave one to her.

Believing that George had been on the Ground Zero site, she mailed him news articles on a near weekly basis about the health problems suffered by rescue workers concerned that he too might suffer health problems.

After George's arrest in October, she contacted Ringing Hills Fire Company and inquired about their participation in the 9/11 rescue efforts.  They were never on the Ground Zero site.

The remaining boxes have not been found and it’s not known if they were given away or sold as supposed 9/11 mementos.

George & Katrina

Not one to miss an opportunity, George viewed Katrina as a chance to greatly profit and contacted his investors.  He tried to obtain over $100,000 for equipment and materials so he could go to the region hit by the storm and assist with cleanup.  His investors declined.

Unable to make the trip on his own he donned his firefighter clothes and made his way to a local shopping center.  He collected donations for Katrina survivors on behalf of the fire company.  He had accumulated several hundred dollars when the local police, aware that the fire company had no such fund drive, suggested that his effort was improper.  They returned him to his home and warned him against any further fundraising.
